BURBERRY AND VIVIENNE WESTWOOD LINK UP FOR AN ECO-COLLAB
By Alice Butterlin
With his appointment as new creative director of Burberry in March, Riccardo Tisci has already initiated an exciting project. The British house is set to release a re-edtition of Burberry classics in collaboration with the iconic Vivienne Westwood and her husband Andreas Kronthaler. The power-couple will surely bring its subversive view of the world to the table, mixing classic British heritage with punk values. The limited-edition pieces will pay homage to some of the most well-known Burberry silhouettes, from the trench coat to the tartan scarf.
The collection will launch in December and will support the rainforest charity Cool Earth. Tisci explains: « Vivienne Westwood was one of the first designers who made me dream to become a designer myself and when I first started at Burberry, I knew it would be the perfect opportunity to approach her to do something. She is a rebel, a punk and unrivalled in her unique representation of British style, which has inspired so many of us. I am so incredibly proud of what we will be creating together. »
