CELINE UNVEILS ITS MEN WINTER 24 COLLECTION: A TRIBUTE TO HOLLYWOOD ROMANTICISM AND PSYCHEDELIA

By Crash redaction

Celine unveils its Men Winter 24 collection in a short film named “Symphonie Fantastique” directed by Hedi Slimane. For this collection, composed of 43 looks, the creative director took inspiration from Hector Berlioz’s 1830s Symphonie fantastique that he discovered at the age of 11, which developed his lifelong passion for the Romantic musical masterpiece. It also pays homage to the iconic Troubadour Club in West Hollywood, California, that has hosted legendary performances from artists like Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Elton John, James Taylor, and many more. The film showcases Celine black helicopters and 1960s cars models, and stereophonic audio system on a deserted highway in Mojave, California.

Celine’s Men Winter 24 collection heralds the return of tailoring, executed in Hedi Slimane’s quintessential sartorial style. The collection features the « I » line, a signature of Slimane’s silhouette, influenced by the 1960s tailoring and the 19th-century Anglomania, including frock coats, three-button suits, and hand-embroidered waistcoats made from silk, cashmere, and vicuna. Dominated by matte black, satin, and lacquered finishes, the collection exudes elegance and sophistication.

By drawing on the revolutionary spirit of Hector Berlioz’s iconic symphony and the storied legacy of the Troubadour Club, Hedi Slimane has crafted a line that is both timeless and avant-garde. This collection is a celebration of artistic innovation and enduring style. It also pays homage to the rich cultural heritage of the Romantic and psychedelic eras, and reimagines these influences for today’s fashion.
