Chanel conquered Los Angeles on Tuesday with its Cruise 2023/2024 collection.

A few days before the fashion show, Chanel littered the City of Angels with two-tone graphic posters created by French artist André. The posters have a retro feel and announce the setting of the fashion show. On the posters we find the names of ambassadors and friends of Chanel, including Alma Jodorowsky, the face of the collection. For the occasion, Inez & Vinood photographed the actress while she was practicing.

The fashion show, which takes place at the iconic Paramount movie studios, begins as the looks appear as shots of joy, a ray of California sunshine, radiating like a venial spin to the rhythm of the 1970s.
The collection is a tribute to decades past, from the fashion turns of the 1920s and 1930s to the freedom of the 1970s and 1980s.

« Between a tribute to the glamour of big movie stars and the evocation of the world of fun with aerobics, sports and roller skating, between dreaming on the one hand and what you want to wear on the other, it’s all about balance, » says Virginie Viard.

The collection’s playfulness and elegance play on Chanel’s collective imagination and take it to the dance floor, resulting in a multicolored range of mini shorts, jumpsuits, 60s dresses and evening gowns, as well as swimwear.

Karl’s glittering, energetic spirit is perfectly expressed in the colorful, summery prints that overlap on the various dresses and suits.
Gold and black, disco ball, shakes and roller skates all feature in the collection.
