CLERGERIE TEAMS UP WITH BOTH ON TWO STUNNING PAIRS OF SHOES

By Alice Butterlin

The French shoe maker Clergerie has just announced a special collaboration with the independent shoe label Both. Created in 2014, Both has been working around rubber to create innovative shoes with playful designs. Its process is quite interesting. The company extracts liquid rubber from trees before treating it with advanced heating techniques to achieve vulcanization – giving the rubber maximum resistance. With a first collection launched for SS17, the brand is still fairly new on the market but has already proven it is here to stay. Today, it is teaming up with a brand that is known for its timeless designs and incredible French craftsmanship. Here is what Clergerie’s Creative Director David Tourniaire-Beauciel had to say: “I’m thrilled to finally reveal the collaboration between Clergerie and Both. I love playing with contrast and in this project we saw Clergerie’s shoemaker expertise merge perfectly with Both’s innovative vulcanization process. We created high quality footwear with a daring and uncompromising style.”

Two pairs were created: a calfskin lace-up ankle boot revisiting one of Clergerie’s most popular shoe, the Celina, and a lace-up loafer. The two will be available in black and white in July 2019 in Clergerie stores worldwide, on the website and in selected retailers.
