BACKSTAGE AT JEANNE FRIOT’S F/W24 « COMING OUT » COLLECTION
By Iris Jeanson
Jeanne Friot’s Autumn-Winter 2024-25 collection, « Coming Out, » is a courageous exploration of lesbian love narratives. Breaking free from stereotypes, the collection draws inspiration from the personal story of Jeanne and Delphine, inviting everyone to participate in rewriting the script of romantic discourse.
The collection features dramatic volumes and theatrical appearances, with femme fatale coats and artfully transformed work jumpsuits. Delving into the tension between individuality and unity in a relationship, « Coming Out » introduces hybrid pieces that narrate the fusion of wardrobes, symbolizing the complexity of lesbian love.
Recycled belts become motifs on dresses and T-shirts, feathered pants take center stage in black, and kilts overlap, challenging conventional norms. This season, Jeanne Friot’s wardrobe codes serve as landmarks in an amorous revolution, advocating for self-expression and breaking free from the shadows.
« Coming Out » is more than just fashion; it’s a declaration of moving from shadow to light, telling one’s own story, and embracing love without boundaries. The collection stands as a beacon, shining light for those still waiting in the shadows, with a resounding message: « When women love each other, men do not reap. »
