CRASH 103 X CARRERA: A SUPERNATURAL EVENING

By Max Mendel

To celebrate the release of Crash magazine’s 103: “Supernatural,”a vibrant and eclectic event was held at the 22 Visconti artspace in collaboration with Carrera. The evening fused surrealism, fashion, and performance in a celebration of creativity and the avant-garde, mirroring the ethos of the issue itself.

At the heart of the night was a show-stopping performance by Bas Nylon, the celebrated performance group led by Jean Biche, a visionary artist rooted in the Brussels underground. Known for his bold multidisciplinary approach, Biche has made a name for himself across the worlds of DJing, performance art, fashion, and makeup. His troupe, Bas Nylon, delivered a series of sultry and mesmerizing dance performances that captivated the audience. Under striking blue lights, the dancers embodied the 103rd issue’s surreal thematics, using Crash 103 as artistic props in sequences that blended humour, provocation, and elegance. The performance was a celebration of joyful subversion, an extension of Biche’s singular vision of counter-culture.

Adding to the immersive atmosphere, guests enjoyed a Carrera x Crash photo-op and a Bas Nylon-themed tattoo station. These experiences created personalized memories to take home while celebrating the creative spirit of the collaboration.

The event itself marked a milestone issue in the magazine’s story, with Crash 103 exploring fashion’s ability to blur the line between reality and fantasy, featuring contributions from Bruce Gilden, Sarah Moon, and Reto Schmid. Carrera’s bold eyewear complemented the night’s daring energy, bringing a sharp, rebellious touch to the proceedings.

Together, Crash and Carrera created an unforgettable evening that celebrated not only a magazine release, but a powerful fusion of art, performance, and style—a true homage to the creative spirit of surrealism
