CRASH 76 – CRUEL SUMMER. After Laurence Weiner, Sterling Ruby, and Jannis Kounellis, the cover of this issue features an exceptional project by Daniel Buren, based on his legendary 8.7-cm stripes. Buren: The French artist who has endured through every generation, whose radical approach has not aged a day, as he continually renews his art before our eyes, diffracting our vision of public space. An issue packed with legendary artist: From Allan McCollum, whose illustrious series marked the 1990s and whom we met during his stay in Paris, to Claude Rutault, as both artists discuss their unique collaboration. Another « vision diffractor » of mythical proportion, Raymond Hains receives an exhibition at Monnaie de Paris, organized by Bertrand Lavier. The new leading lady of independent American cinema, Greta Gerwig, an actress and director as sophisticated as she is committed, delivers an intimates and candid interview. Jus as committed, Beth Ditto talks about launching her own plus-size brand. Speaking of commitment, provocative art collector Stefan Simchowitz questions the system of production dominating today’s art market, while drawing parallels between art and fashion. We wrap things up with the Maramotti family’s long commitment to supporting contemporary artists across several generations. A.L.
