Read the Editor-in-chief’s statement about #Crash92 below.

« Lockdown has felt like a traumatic experience for many of us and has raised obvious questions about confinement and freedom. Cajoled by force, we now see things in a different way. Locked down in space, but also in roles, functions, genders. Let us cherish our freedom, which is all that we can retain from this ordeal. Let us cherish the privilege of being free, of being able to move around, to leave our home country, to go elsewhere. We had almost forgotten what the word freedom meant. And this crisis now reminds us of it.

This period has even more boldly underlined the inequalities of our society and triggered the revolt of marginalized groups. It is the straw that broke the camel’s back. We are witnessing a direct challenge to our societies, to capitalism, to consumption, to the destruction of the planet. The very foundations of our model have been called into question, and this is the benefit that we can draw from the present crisis. Trump’s America is definitely no longer a model and no longer has a lesson to teach… Freedom of action and speech is being reborn. We have had enough of digital and consumerist alienation. We must live in the present moment and no longer in prerecorded realities. » – Armelle Leturcq, Editor-in-Chief of Crash.
