DIOR CRUISE 2017 EXPERIENCE AND NEW BOND STREET OPENING

DIOR CRUISE 2017: THE BLENHEIM EXPERIENCE

For the presentation of its Cruise 2017 collection, the House of Dior took its guest on an historical journey leading back to the UK, at Blenheim’s Palace, an extraordinary venue located in Oxfordshire. With the English countryside as backdrop, the collection took inspiration from the high society in the post-war years, as well as the urge for travel and adventure. Dior and the UK have always had a special connection: Mr Christian Dior was a great lover of Great Britain and used to have his costumes made by Savile Row tailors. In fact, two collections were already presented at the Blenheim’s Palace back in 1954 and 1958, which only strengthened the House’s decision to invest the venue for the Cruise 2017 presentation. In doing so, Head Designers Lucie Meier and Serge Ruffieux truly paid hommage to an intercultural, creative legacy, and delivered a collection full of references (the Bar shape is reinterpreted and deconstructed, the knot serves in many ways, and silhouettes have that poised elegance that can only be applied to Dior). There is something about this cruise season that feels like a journey into time, history and culture. And the experience isn’t about the end here: Dior just announced the opening of its newest boutique, « House of Dior », in London, the largest of the country. On four floors located on New Bond Street, the store will entail everything Dior, from ready-to-wear to Dior Homme to Baby Dior, with also a jewelry and a perfume space dedicated to the Collection Privée Christian Dior. The boutique, an architectural wonder designed by architect Peter Marino, also comprises contemporary art works by artists Tony Cragg and Rado Kirov. The opening comes with the launch of Dior HOME, a collection of a variety of objects from crystal silverware to limited editions of objects created by a handful of designers like Lucie de la Falaise, Hubert Le Gall, Peter Marino, Véronique Tattinger, Giberto Arrivabene, India Mahdavi, and more. Finally, an exclusive collaboration with artist Marc Quinn will uncover limited editions of the Lady Dior as well as small leather goods.

We offer you a glimpse at these exciting news below, with key looks of the Dior Cruise 2017 collection and views of the new House of Dior, to be opened on June 3rd.
