FAST RETAILING GIVES AWAY 10 MILLION MASKS TO MEDICAL INSTITUTIONS

By Crash

To support the fight against Covid-19, the Fast Retailing Group is mobilizing and donating 10 million masks to medical institutions in Japan and around the world. These will be distributed to medical facilities where there is an urgent need for protection.

In Japan, Fast Retailing will donate one million masks to the government for use primarily by medical and healthcare institutions. The distribution of masks will take place in high priority areas in Japan.

A severe shortage of protective masks around the world has led to an escalation of the health emergency. In the areas in which the Fast Retailing Group operates, namely Italy, where approximately 75,000 cases have been confirmed, and the United States, where approximately 65,000 cases have been confirmed, Fast Retailing will donate one million masks from the end of March.
In coordination with the local UNIQLO offices on site, these masks will be transported to medical facilities through the Milan City Government and the New York State Government.

Faced with the spread of Covid-19 since January, Fast Retailing is working to help the affected countries and regions. Thanks to its UNIQLO activities in China, South Korea and South East Asia, it is first with a donation of clothing for medical staff and then a financial contribution for NGOs that support has been set up. The group will continue to provide targeted assistance as the situation evolves.
