FENDI HAUTE FOURRURE FALL-WINTER 2015-16 BY FRANK PERRIN

When Haute Couture meets Haute Fourrure
Fifty years. It’s been fifty years since Karl Lagerfeld first entered the House of Fendi. What a better way to celebrate this exceptional anniversary than to design the first ever Fendi Haute Couture collection shown for the first time during the Haute Couture schedule in Paris. And because neither Lagerfeld nor Fendi do anything halfway, this was a collection entirely dedicated to fur. A decision that completely falls into sense when we consider Fendi’s history with the luxurious material. Last night, it was an abundance of fur coats, dresses and capes, as well as rare feather incrustations that the audience discovered under the vaults of the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées. The set was an hommage to Rome, home of Fendi, and gave the collection its oh so unique impact. Each piece was as intriguing as the other, showcasing rare craftsmanship in the intricate treatment of the materials as well as a luxurious, in-your-face sense of style that goes so well with what Fendi is all about: a fashion-forward, highly qualitative vision of clothing.
