FENDI SPRING/SUMMER 2025: A CENTURY OF INNOVATION AND ELEGANCE

By Max Mendel

Kim Jones’ Spring/Summer 2025 collection for Fendi marks the brand’s century anniversary with a harmonious blend of earth tones and striking silhouettes. Drawing inspiration from the 1920s flapper era, the collection reinterprets vintage textures and shapes in a thoroughly modern Fendi style. The Italian fashion house debuts fresh bag silhouettes, including a new take on the pochette, adding depth through creative layering.

A standout feature of the season is the « trapped flower » technique, seen on the latest pochette Baguette. This trompe l’oeil inspired design, first spotted at Simone Rocha’s London show, reflects Silvia Venturini Fendi’s ongoing innovation in the accessories category.

Embellishments, embroidery, and fringe details enhance the 1920s references, while modern touches like stacked socks and transparent fabrics bring a contemporary edge. The collection elegantly integrates these elements into skirts, dresses, and bags.

Kim Jones draws parallels between the empowered women of the 1920s and today, celebrating Fendi’s enduring legacy. Founded in 1925, Fendi is a product of that transformative era, and this collection honors its matriarchal heritage while embracing future progress.

The show’s sensory dimension was enriched by the voice of Anna Fendi, who reflected on her lifelong pursuit of beauty: « She liked to get as close to beauty as possible. For her, beauty had almost become, since she was a child, a goal. »
