FENDI SS17: ON THE RUNWAY

Spring-Summer 2017 feels glorious for Fendi. The collection marks the return of the emblematic Pequin and Regimental stripes on silhouettes cinched at the waist and « boyfriend » shirts with open back. Embracing a rococo aesthetic put against a more athletic vibe (see the ankle trainers laced with grosgrain ribbons), Karl Lagerfeld and Silvia Venturini Fendi imagine a playful universe where aprons grow into long skirts and are worn over fine lingerie in pastel colors. Tied with ribbons, gowns and mini dresses have that angelic feel, accentuated by a glittery lip and hair styled into youthful ponytails. On few of the dresses, flower motifs remind of 18th century tapestries with their golden shine, but of course their play on soft textures, sheerness, and volumes put them at the forefront of modernity. On the accessories side, Fendi introduced its new-born, the Kan I stud lock bag, a rightful continuation of the iconic Peekaboo and DotCom bags, all personalized with every season’s objet of desire: the Strap You straps.
