FONDAZIONE PRADA PRESENTS « PERFECT FAILURES »

By Crash

Fondazione Prada presents a joint curatorial collaboration with the video-on-demand website MUBI to put an emphasis on films that were widely misunderstood upon their release for a new generation to discover or rediscover with fresh eyes. The film selection will be available from April 5th on the MUBI platform all through the temporary closure of the physical spaces of Fondazione Prada.

The list of under-the-radar movies includes box office flops, critical disappointments, unexpected offerings from popular directors or even films which were too ahead of their time. Initially greeted with mixed reviews, varying from shock to disgust, these features finally have the chance to be valued again, reconsidered in another space and time. The first film available will be 2016’s Southland Tales by Richard Kelly, followed by 1967’s A Countess from Hong Kong by Charlie Chaplin, 1978’s Fedora by Billy Wilder, 1995’s Showgirls by Paul Verhoeven and more!

This initiative is the perfect way to delve into a more marginal cinema, while staying safe inside. Find more information here.
