GIVENCHY’S F/W24 : MODERN ELEGANCE

By Iris Jeanson

The Givenchy Studio Prêt-à-Porter Homme unveiled its Fall/Winter 2024 Collection, a contemporary exploration of gentlemanliness inspired by the iconic Hubert de Givenchy. Held at 3, Avenue George V, where Givenchy created his original collections, the line effortlessly captures the duality of formal wear and off-duty style.

Highlighting the founder’s personal wardrobe, the collection reimagines the blouse blanche as an elegant workwear staple, leading into a series of suits and coats with meticulous detailing. Sapphires, a color beloved by Givenchy, dominate the collection, breathing new life into traditional Parisian playboy silhouettes with bold cuts and textures influenced by punk and glam expressions.

The collection delves into a delicate balance between masculine and feminine aesthetics, featuring opulent chandelier motifs alongside teddy coats, bombers, and military-inspired staples. Graphic patterns and surface decorations pay homage to Givenchy’s eccentric gestures, with shearling, hair embellishments, and archival motifs adorning various pieces.

Accessories play a key role, reviving the logo belt and diamond-shaped infinity G monogram. Long necklaces and signet rings, significant to Givenchy himself, add a personal touch. Classic dandy sunglasses and innovative footwear, from loafers to collapsed-heel sneakers, showcase the brand’s commitment to modern luxury.

Givenchy’s Fall/Winter 2024 Collection brilliantly captures the essence of Hubert de Givenchy’s gentlemanliness, fusing tradition with contemporary allure in a celebration of timeless elegance.
