GMBH PRESENTS SPRING-SUMMER ’25 COLLECTION ‘RESISTANCE THROUGH RITUALS’
By Chloe Edstein
The collection’s name is inspired by cultural theorist Stuart Hall’s book about post-war youth reacting to cultural change. The Berlin fashion label interprets resistance as the belief in and fight for a better world. This collection responds to political repression and the far right, showing solidarity with the queer, brown, and diverse communities GmbH represents.
Friends and models wore garments designed for protection and readiness to fight. The collection included boxer shorts and blazers with lapels that formed a hood, inspired by boxers’ ring attire. Bomber jackets featured a “GmbH: Love and Justice” coat of arms, paired with schoolboy-style tailored shorts. A cinched-waist tailored jacket merged with a boxer’s gown, intricate patchwork tops with micro boxing shorts, and sharp-toed sneakers. The womenswear was more prominent this season, featuring dresses with asymmetrical and handkerchief hems. The collection envisioned heroes and heroines—real and imagined—as dream fighters of the resistance.
The “Resistance Through Rituals” collection celebrates fighters and those who stand up for a better world.
