In October, Gosha Rubchinskiy will reveal his first perfume, developed with the support of Comme des Garçons Perfumes. The perfume, an urban and fresh Eau de Toilette, is the first from the Russian designer, who is launching simultaneously a brand new photography book titled Perfume Book, a visual transcription of everything this new scent stands for. Indeed, the perfume was designed in the spirit of the young designer and the freedom he puts in his clothes, as well as the post-Soviet youth inspiration he likes to explore. The essence depicts the feeling of a summer day spent skateboarding, the freedom of youth encapsulated with the familiar smells of rubber and tar. The bottle takes from past and present: its round shape is a homage to historic Russian perfumes, while its wooded cap references the practice of skateboarding. Gosha Rubchinskiy’s Eau de Toilette (designed under the creative direction of Comme des Garçons’s Christian Astuguevieille with perfumer Alexis Dadier) is the embodiment of the essence of youth, a sensory experience that transcends the senses, just as much as the designer’s approach of fashion. Both the perfume and the book will be launched exclusively at Dover Street Market London, the Paris Trading Museum as well as the Comme des Garçons Perfume shop on October 8th, 2016.
