GUCCI PRESENTS A COLLABORATIVE PROJECT AROUND THE G-TIMELESS WATCH

By Crash

Gucci is presenting yet another collaborative project where the House’s artistic director, Alessandro Michele, has invited numerous artists from around the world to express their unique approach to the G-Timeless automatic watch.

Michele has asked various artists (illustrators, painters and digital artists) to give free rein to their imagination to create works of art featuring various models of the G-Timeless watch. Each artist was asked to give his or her personal interpretation and focus on the element that makes the G-Timeless so special: the bee motif, introduced by Gucci in the 1970s, a decorative element on the semi-precious stone dials, stands out as the center piece and indicates the passing of the hours.

These artists are truly diverse. While some, such as China’s Winnie Chi and Britain’s Kieron Livingstone, have already collaborated with Gucci, many are newcomers: Londoners Oh de Laval and Tishk Barzanji, California’s Balfua, Spain’s David Macho and Russia’s Andrey Kasay. Although each artist brought a very personal vision, the ensemble shares a dreamlike, surreal atmosphere, in symbiosis with Gucci’s eclecticism.
