THE CONTEMPORARY WOMAN: HERMES SS16 SHOW
Yesterday, Nadège Vanhee-Cybulski presented her Spring-Summer 2016 collection for Hermès. The show took place in Paris 4th arrondissement in a pure, creamy white setting. The collection could be characterized by its sense of ease and its connection to Hermès’ unrivaled spirit of understated elegance. Opening the show with navy-blue pieces of tailoring – a sleeveless vest is paired with high-waisted trousers, while a simple A-line dress is worn with black mules and a chunky, glass bracelet – Cybulski then introduced black leather and a geometrical print on off-white pieces. Blending prints and materials, she managed to find a place where leather becomes a soft as silk and flows in the pleats of the two-tones skirts. Graphic prints on silky silhouettes create lines that either follow the shape of the body or go in different ways. The result is a colorful, graphic vision. Easiness always, this season the Hermès woman is wearing sneakers with her suede dresses and leather overalls.
