What’s great with up-and-coming Swiss brand Huber Egloff is their offbeat approach to fashion. Andreas Huber and Raúl Egloff Alcaide already proved so with their previous collections, and this season they truly established their brand as a must-see on the Paris’ collections schedule. Refreshingly, they do not take themselves too seriously. Case in point, last week’s Paris presentation took place in a laundromat right on Rue Saint-Honoré! There, they welcomed their guests and showed them their designs on models chitchatting with each other in a laid back atmosphere. Plus, seeing icon Kim Peers model the collection (she was also chosen to shoot the collection images) feels incredibly right. The clothes spoke volumes: sportswear elements such as hooded sweatshirts in jersey and athletic cuts responded to more vivid pieces in salmon pink Lurex. There’s also a penchant for the uniform, as it seems, in the attention to detail with metallic chains and straps. The Huber Egloff woman is definitely about practicality, but still has her norms for highly qualitative clothing. She’s an explorer who takes inspiration from diversity. The collection notes mentioned Albert Kahn as the main influence of the collection, for his « idea to cultivate humanity with travelling and documenting our multifaceted cultures is of vital importance ». Curiosity towards the world: This is the essence of Huber Egloff.
