ISSEY MIYAKE SPRING-SUMMER 2016 CAMPAIGN « BOTANICAL DELIGHTS »

Issey Miyake always proves an endless creativity, especially when it comes to its new collections campaigns. In this Issey Miyake Spring-Summer 2016 campaign, the brand inspires us with its « Botanical delights » which gives an insight of the new collections colors and silhouettes. Inspired by tropical flora and all its bright colors – from electric blue to fuchsia and yellow, this campaign explores the relationship between body and movement, one of the main themes in Miyake’s creative approach. The clothes are made of one unique piece, following this unique concept that made the brand known all over the world. The campaign introduces Issey Miyake’s new technique for pleated fabrics called Baked Stretch: the Piece of Cloth is imprinted with a special glue, placed in a baking machine and baked. In this way the pleats’ molds expand with high heath, giving shape to the fabrics. The video focuses on clothes’ shapes presenting it as a sort of metamorphose of the body. This time the fabrics colors are hidden in the pleats of the clothes, which gives a kaleidoscopic effect to the whole collection. Realized in collaboration with the artist Jacob Sutton, who already collaborated with the brand on other projects, the video is an exploration of fabrics’ meanders to experience clothing in an innovative way.
