ISSEY MIYAKE UNVEILS « WHAT HAS ALWAYS BEEN » FW24 COLLECTION

By Iris Jeanson

Issey Miyake’s Fall Winter 2024/25 collection, « What Has Always Been, » was presented at the Museum of Immigration History in Paris, unraveling the essence of draping and clothing the human form.

The collection unveiled many lines from Envision’s sculptural silhouettes to Asagao’s seamless knitwear and the versatile Enclothe Pants, each piece draws inspiration from the primal act of adorning oneself with fabric.

« What Has Always Been » balances tradition with innovation, showcasing elegant drapery in Enclothe Washi And Wool and playful transparency in Behind The Scene. Interplay offers diverse layering options, while Vigor captures the power of wild flora.

Wander’s handcrafted pleats and Nuance Tube’s changing sky hues add an artistic touch. In essence, Issey Miyake’s FW24 collection beautifully merges the ancient act of clothing with contemporary design, capturing the enduring beauty that has always been.
