This collection pertains a certain angularity and sharpness with grungy silver accents in hardware and jewellery. While softer elements such as knitted sleeves, padded and inflated pieces, and bonded cotton trenches create aesthetic tension. In the Men’s wear collection, the colour palette is sombre, solid, and urban but jewellery and accents of green, pink, red, and violet create variety. The Women’s collection plays a very two-toned game, using texture to create an interesting landscape – with the introduction of rope into some of the footwear, inflated silhouettes in jackets and trousers, knit, leather, pleats, and fur. This blend of textures is encapsulated as Jil Sander elevates a white dress with a fluffy brown coat tying in the black leather boots and bag with industrial-looking black leather finishes on the collar and cuffs of the jacket. Shapes are what drive this collection. They are constantly written and unwritten, a grey caped dress with an extra set of sleeves tied at the waist, a sleek, tailored blazer with billowing trousers blending street and ballroom.

There are no bounds for sophistication in this Pre-Fall Collection. No material is safe, as Jil Sander bends them to their vision, implementing colours and textures for shock value.
