JOHN GALLIANO SS16 : AN ODE TO LONDON ECCENTRICITY
Follow Crash photographer Dan Spigelman backstage at the John Galliano SS16 show. This season, Bill Gaytten, John Galliano’s creative director, presented an eccentric youthful collection inspired by the Swinging London. Some models stomp down the catwalk wearing helmets, exclusively created by Stephen Jones, that reminded us of nothing else but guard’s helmets at Buckingham Palace. Bill Gaytten mixed punk romanticism with a touch of British eclecticism to create delicate polka dot chiffon and lace dresses, utilitarian jackets and ruffled layers. The result, full of sexiness and delicateness, with The Beatles as soundtrack, was a fresh air coming straight from London breathed into John Galliano’s Paris show.
