Junya Watanabe unveils his SS22 ready-to-wear collection.

In a nostalgic mood, photographs from Jamies Hawkesworth taken in Bhutan, India, and Kashmir, inspired the designer to source prints and illustrations from a range of artists, all with connections to Asian countries.

Set to a composition of music from Japanese musician Ryuichi Sakamoto, Watanabe presented a romantic but fashion-forward collection, that evoked feelings of his longing for his roots.

‘I felt the pure heart of the people through the photographs’ he said in his show notes.
