JW Anderson’s Men’s SS25 collection not only inflates with creativity but also introduces an iconic partnership with renowned Irish company, Guinness. This partnership celebrates the exceptional craftsmanship and innovative spirit of both brands, showcased in runway looks 45, 53, and 55.

In look 45 and 53 the richness of the Guinness foam is recreated with voluptuous pearl embroidery taking a classic luxury element and turning it on its head – the story telling of the two worlds colliding. Furthermore, grounding elements of unexpected luxury in familiar graphics. Look 55 encapsulates the collaboration, and the two parties’ essences in a hand knit intarsia cashmere blend yarn and the signature Arthur Guinness embroidered with Anderson’s classic machine embroidery.

Anderson creates a pillow for us to dream, inflating silhouettes and bending reality. Like a magician’s sleeve, ribbons spill out of seams, transcending sophisticated and elegant jackets and button up shirts with oozing colour and playfulness. Anderson wraps us up in our quilts and tells us to carry our homes with us as we inhabit a knitted British house. The floor of discarded options, we now bring with us in runway looks 41, 42, and 44 where Anderson offers a plethora of what could have been. Jackets are plush and smooth, no material ever rough, pants soft flowing or glossed, leather pliable, necklines are scooped and tempered. It’s a dream not a nightmare.

Though, the story never adds up. As we turn away for just a second our minds play tricks on us, never quite sure what should be. An exaggerated tie, two toned knitwear, frilled cap sleeves, ankle belts, chunky loafers and ‘construction’ boots. Adding the final touches, Anderson equips us with angular silver hardware just in case we need to pop the inflated.

 So, close your eyes, inhale, exhale, and accomplish real sleep with Anderson.
