KARL LAGERFELD, ARCHITECTURES

By Crash

Today opens the exhibition Architectures at Carpenters Workshop Gallery in Paris where Karl Lagerfeld has been invited to showcase for the first time ever his sculptural art. Inspired by Antiquity, the designer created monochromatic marble functional sculptures that stand gloriously in the gallery’s space. Blending ancient Greek forms with a certain contemporary view on furniture, the tables, mirrors, lamps and fountains seem to hold a modern mythology. The pieces, cut from rare marble blocks, have been made by Aline Asmar d’Amman who made Lagerfeld’s studies come to life.

The exhibition runs through December 22nd. More information here.
