Koché Fall Winter 2016 collection reveals once again the talent of its creative director Christelle Kocher, nominated for the second time this year to the LVMH prize. Indeed, the collection had an electrifying vibe that made the show stand out during Paris fashion week. It took place in Passage du Prado in the heart of Paris’ 10h arrondissement, a melange of cultures and African and Indian folklore. In this same directive, the models were chosen among the creative director’s friends, from different cultural backgrounds and with unusual silhouettes to give as a glance of the urban side of the French capital. Blending streetwear with couture craftsmanship, the collection was a mash-up of textures and styles: draped tops were made of colored silk and brick velvet, without sleeves or with one only, in long tunic or cropped cuts. A multicolored parka made of feathers was one fetiche of this season, giving us an idea of a creativeness without boundaries. But feathers details could be found all along the collection, either nestled in laced tops or woven in a green sequin tank without sleeves. Black and navy ensembles in silk were paired with chunky sparkling chained jewelry, while dresses with patchworks in chenille and denim with rock’n’roll ankle boots or dismissed trainers. Trousers were loose or laced with fake stone insertions. A mix that astonishes for its newness and freshness!
