The French drama film La Religieuse 

Pauline Etienne, Louise Bourgoin and Isabelle Huppert star in Guillaume Nicloux’s update of Denis Diderot’s classic novel.

The 18th century joins a faith’s, hipocrisy’s and classic creed’s period. This refined period piece is mainly a showcase for budding Belgian actress Pauline Etienne, whose studied representation of a rebellious young abbess should propel her into further featuring in a lead role in the future.

The film is  premiered in competition in Berlin for the 63‘th international worldwide competition. La religieuse will convert those viewers who like their costume dramas well performed.
