LEVI STRAUSS & CO COMMITS 3 MILLION $ TO COVID-19 RESPONSE

President and CEO of Levi Strauss & Co Chip Bergh just issued a statement saying the company will donate 3 million dollars to relief efforts during the COVID-19 crisis, with a focus on employees, community partners and supply chain workers. Levi Strauss & Co is dedicated to find new ways to help in times when societies around the world are threatened by a virus menacing their healths the healths of their families. It is big corporations’ responsibility to help those in need and fashion has been on the forefront of this battle since the beginning of the crisis. The Levi’s response is likely to evolve as the situation changes. Chip Bergh has also reminded people that LS&Co is no stranger to supporting their communities with existing programs and networks that have been geared towards coronavirus purposes.

First, the Red Tab Foundation is centered around employee assistance funds, then the Levi Strauss Foundation supports vanguard organizations that are championing marginalized people who are likely to be the most affected by COVID-19, they also launched an Employees Giving Back campaign which has raised more than 160,000 dollars to date. Then there’s also the social aspect of the pandemic which is being taken care of with the 5:01 live series where your favorite artists play a live show from their home, streamed on the Levi’s Instagram channel. The company is also donating medical-grade masks which had been stored for employees – who have in turn agreed on sewing hand-made masks for lower-risk settings.
