Following last year’s incredible experience brought to Bob Hope’s house in Palm Springs, Nicolas Ghesquière rose up to the challenge in presenting his Louis Vuitton Cruise 2017 collection in Rio de Janeiro at the Niterói Contemporary Art Museum – designed by Oscar Niemeyer. Once again, Ghesquière took his guests on an architectural adventure resonating with the current interest for Rio de Janeiro, the city where the 2016 Olympic Games will take place in just a few months. Maybe that’s the reason why this collection felt very athletic: the first dresses were deconstructed and referenced scuba suits with an explosive dose of color. Short-sleeved coat referred to Parisian elegance with a penchant for futurism. A great mix between casual wear and extremely luxurious fashion.
