LOUIS VUITTON FOR UNICEF COMMITS TO HELP CHILDREN IN EMERGENCY COUNTRIES

Louis Vuitton and UNICEF commit to help children in emergency countries by protecting them from natural disasters and conflicts. Children are the first victims to humanitarian crises, due to their sensitiveness to sicknesses, malnourishment and violence. For UNICEF, Louis Vuitton designed the Silver Lock necklace and bracelet, available from today 13th January online at www.louisvuitton.com/lvforunicef and in all Louis Vuitton’s boutiques. For each piece sold from this special collection, 200$ will be devoted to support UNICEF actions to preserve children’s life all over the world. Inspired by the warded lock conceived by Georges Vuitton in 1890 for the brand’s suitcases collections, the Silver Lock also symbolises a promise: to improve children’s life in emergency countries. The launch of this project is followed by a digital campaign called #MAKEAPROMISE, aimed to engage and raise awareness among the public. The supporters of the project are asked to share their promise by interlacing their fingers as a symbol of commitment, as we were used to do during our childhood. Called « pinky promise » in most countries, this gesture has a strong meaning and respond to both UNICEF and Louis Vuitton’s humanitarian values. If you want to be part of the #MAKEAPROMISE movement too, then take two minutes to choose a partner, cross your pinkies, take a picture and share it on social media tagging the friends you want to encourage to do the same!
