LOUIS VUITTON FOUNDATION OPENS ITS DOORS

By Crash redaction

LVMH announces The Louis Vuitton Foundation is opening its doors to the public this October. The building, designed with the initiative of Bernard Arnault and by American architect Frank Gehry, will aim to support and promote artistic creation for both French and international contemporary artists. The Foundation will align their collections and programing in keeping with the historical art movements of the twentieth and XXI centuries. The exhibition galleries dedicate space to permanent collections, as well as temporary exhibitions and artistic commissions and is equipped with a modular auditorium to accommodate multidisciplinary events.

Located at the Zoological Garden in Paris, Gehry was inspired to create a sense of transparency with his architecture, featuring lots of glass and terraces offering views over Paris and the woodland.

The Louis Vuitton Foundation is a corporate foundation with a private cultural initiative dedicated to the arts and artists seeking to create a new stage of patronage for art and culture. The doors to the Louis Vuitton Foundation will open Monday, October 27th 2014.
