This collection by Magliano honours the tender and fleeting memories that surprise us like sudden storms. The process of memory becomes archaeology: nostalgias transform into fossilized traces, simply analysed for what they represent.

Silhouettes are ultimately crucial, sometimes stark, similar to the memories from the 2000s, encompassing white, black, and the shades in between. Classic designs are adaptable thanks to folk or beach-inspired additions. Clothing takes on unconventional functions, or malfunctions, as it ventures into the realm of fantasy.

The microscopic is now magnified. The clasp of two allergic things persists on coming together. The extremities of the clothes rattle and muddle; here lies the intrinsic nature of the project which favours the intricate complexity over the straight forward.

Childhood memories are brought forth through the cross-stitch. Viewed as a means of expression, it weaves together strands of online searches, poetry, pornography, and fragments of significant personas. The standout figure of the moment is Pinocchio, an outstanding symbol of change.

Countryside landscapes are stripped of wicker baskets, which are then transformed into jewellery, forming the rebellious parure, symbolizing resistance. The transformation of workwear gives rise to a chic wardrobe, where the apron takes on a formal role. The introduction of latex represents a dramatic confrontation between organic and inorganic materials.

Addressing a range of unconventional subjects, the most deeply felt is the exploration of chemsex. In a serene print reminiscent of Giorgio Morandi’s work, Magliano’s care club depicts a table full of instruments and the space that envelops them, showing no sign of indifference.

In Western society, clothing is considered secondary to the body, and the body is considered secondary to the societal norms. When the body does not conform, the clothing also becomes nonconforming.
