This season MaxMara’s inspiration for their Spring Summer 2015 womenswear collection are women themselves. Looking back to style icons like Anjelica Huston and Dominique Sanda, MaxMara looked to unconventional women who were able to redefine the conception of beauty. Through micro floral prints, to geometrics, the graphics are more sleek and modern rather than predictably bourgeois. This first layer of challenging our perception of beauty, strength and femininity continues through the contrasts in textures and materials. Pleated georgette dresses, calfskin coats, tough gaberdine, and matalasse skirts all make an appearance on this MaxMara collection, but the newest material of the season is Alcantara. Similar to a suede used in the collection’s military jackets, and summer trench coats, it has definitely enhanced the mood of « the new beauty ». MaxMara’s Spring Summer collection will leave you feeling like cool, strong, feminine, and redefined.
