METRO MANILA BY SEAN ELLIS

Directed by american filmmaker Sean Ellis,  « Metro Manila » is a stunning thriller, giving serious and lofty codes which are usually attributed to independent movies.

The story depicts poverty stricken lives of Oscar Ramirez (Jake Macapagal) and his wife Mai (Althea Vega) who are dreaming of a brighter future deciding to leave the mountains of northern Philippines to move to Metro Manila.

Metro Manila has been shot in the Philippines in 2011 with a Filipino cast and crew. The movie also uses the local Tagalog dialect throughout.

This movie has been selected for the World Dramatic Competition at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival, featuring Jake Macapagal, John Arcilla and Althea Vega.

Film released on the January 17th, 2014.
