Her first novel, ‘L’Anima Degli Altri’, was published in 1935, the same year she was incarcerated for her anti-fascist endeavors in Italy. *Forbidden Notebook*, unveiled in 1952, is a newly appreciated treasure of women’s literature. It delves into the inner thoughts of the modern woman and her desire to liberate herself from the everyday oppressive nature of chauvinistic society.

Sibilla Aleramo gained fame for creating some of the earliest feminist literature in Italy. Her groundbreaking autobiographical book, A Woman, provides insight into the lives of Italian women at the beginning of the twentieth century.

In 1811, Jane Austen released her debut novel, Sense and Sensibility, marking the beginning of a prolific literary career. This was succeeded by the publication of Pride and Prejudice, Emma, ​​and several other works. Austen culminated her writing journey with the release of Persuasion in 1817.
