MIU MIU SPRING/SUMMER 2025

By Max Mendel

The Miu Miu Spring/Summer 2025 show titled “Salt Looks Like Sugar,” opened with a white cotton dress that evoked a sense of childhood nostalgia. Set against an industrial backdrop, models walked the runway to a soundtrack that combined upbeat rhythms with mechanical sounds.

Layering was a key theme, with polo shirts worn over one another and 1970s-inspired bold prints. Floral skirts with buttons contrasted with sleek patent trench coats, while wide-cut flapper-inspired dresses styled open at the back revealed sporty bralettes. Edwardian-adjacent white cotton dresses adorned with Art Deco sequins added an element of sophistication.

The collection featured unexpected combinations, including dual-tone windbreakers from the 1980s and knitted leg warmers. Brightly colored heels punctuated the looks, creating a mix of textures and colors that felt distinctly Miu Miu.

Miuccia Prada’s vision continues to push boundaries, often weaving narratives of identity and self-expression into her designs. This season’s styling stood out, imbuing the outfits with an air of spontaneous creativity, as if the pieces had been layered and arranged in a hurry. The appearance of Hilary Swank and Willem Dafoe on the runway added an element of intrigue, showcasing the brand’s varied ambassadors while diversifying the casting.

With the Spring/Summer 2025 collection, » Miu Miu presents a diverse array of styles and influences, reflecting the complexity of contemporary fashion.
