The film follows an Italian model brought to Argentina for a Miu Miu campaign. The picturesque town witnesses her as the star of the show, admired by locals during the shoot. However, things take a mysterious turn when the model vanishes, leaving only eerie security footage of her darting through the town’s streets. A group of female detectives, the town’s own “Sherlock Holmes” figures, embarks on a quest to uncover the truth, following clues hidden within the Miu Miu clothing and the vast Argentine landscape. 

Citarella, known for her fascination with women who seek adventure, masterfully blends the supernatural with fashion. She captures the essence of Miu Miu clothing as integral to the narrative, making the garments almost as central as the characters themselves. The film explores the interplay between fashion and environment, as the missing model seems to merge with the natural scenery, becoming a part of the landscape itself.

Premiering at the Venice Film Festival’s « Giornate degli Autori » on August 31st, 2024, « El Affaire Miu Miu » continues the tradition of the Miu Miu Women’s Tales series to push the boundaries of storytelling and style with a distinctive Latin American flair.
