NIKELAB x STONE ISLAND CELEBRATES THE « WINDRUNNER » YEAR.

NikeLab x Stone Island are proud to announce an exclusive collaboration to reinterpret the iconic Windrunner model through new fabrics and technologies. Created in 1978 by Nike’s first designer, the Nike Windrunner is the first piece from the brand to be worn by athletes before and after athletics competitions. Since then, the model became an iconic piece worn by everybody, from the streets to the catwalk. In 2016, Nike and Stone Island merge their craftsmanship and distinctive styles to create a new and innovative version of the Nike Windrunner. The hood and herringbone pattern is made of Mussola Gommata fabric, a mix of light muslin cotton and polyurethane. The Windrunner’s body is made of Nylon Metal, an exclusive metallic fabric composed of nylon treated with a resin process. Those compositions give waterproofness qualities to it and protect from the wind. The Windrunner is padded with PrimaLoft® Insulation Technology, a mix of fabrics which enable to create small air pockets to increase thermic insulation and lightness. On the occasion of the Windrunner year, also the iconic sneakers Nike Air Mowabb has been reinterpreted. Comfortable and resistant, these sneakers allow free natural movement for lovers of walks.
