INSIDE No21 BACKSTAGE / MILAN SPRING-SUMMER 2016
Yesterday, Alessandro Dell’Acqua presented his Spring-Summer 2016 collection for No21 in Milan, on the first day of Milan Fashion Week. Sheer seemed to have been a starting point for Dell’Acqua: the 38 looks that walked the runway all incorporated the element of fluidity, almost nonchalance, that instantly gave the collection a very suited ease. The designer explained he found inspiration in Corinne Day’s work, who broke through in the early 90s with her unexpected, fresh and natural photographic style. Who doesn’t remember the black and white images of a baby-faced Kate Moss showing a bright smile? Indeed, the 90s reference is visible in this Spring-Summer collection. There is also something boyish about it: the white, « boyfriend » tee is a common thread. Whether worn with a floral-printed dungaree or under a strapless red and white striped dress, it gave the girls a certain coolness. Everything feels easy, from the color palette to the deliberately very long sleeves and the pleated skirts that almost have the shape of a square. And the shoes! Fringed pumps with open toes, worn with beige calf-lenghts socks. Of course.
