MAISON MARGIELA SS17: ON THE RUNWAY
There is a futuristic flair to John Galliano’s Maison Margiela spring-summer 2017 collection. Styled with flat headpieces and big crystals covering their ears, the models sported quite athletic silhouettes that mixed a typical British aesthetic (see the mackintosh opening the show) and technical fabrics like scuba. Pat McGrath delivers a shiny beauty look, with glittery lips and eyeshadow in blue and silver tones. In this collection, Galliano’s incredible creativity meet a high-end technicality: few examples are a Plexiglas-embroidered electric blue skirt or a draped trench coat worn upside down. Textures are rich: from nylon organza to PVC, this is a masterful collection.
