OUT NOW: BRUMEUX BY MAGENTA CLUB

By Martina Conte

After two years of touring all over France, including a memorable performance at the Olympia, the members of Magenta Club are finally making their comeback with the unreleased single « Brumeux. » This song serves as the first extract from their second album, which is set to be released in 2024. The experience gained during the two years on the road has allowed the collective to grow and evolve their musical identity through direct interaction with the audience and live performances. This new single, « Brumeux, » fits seamlessly into this evolution, exploring the confused and anxious climate of the current era.

Magenta Club spent a solid two years on the road, performing in over 80 dates throughout France. This tour, which concluded at the Machine du Moulin Rouge on December 6th, was an opportunity for the collective to get closer to their audience and mature musically through live experience. This period also allowed them to intensify the process of writing and composition, creating a unique fusion of dance music and meaningful content.
The single « Brumeux » fully captures Magenta Club’s aim to explore the confusion of our time. Originally conceived as a track with house influences, the song underwent a significant transformation, passing through filters of trip-hop and alternative rock. The end result is a track that returns to the roots of the collective, with a syncopated loop that perfectly complements the lyrics, highlighting live-played instruments, including raw guitars, piercing basslines, and haunting percussion.

Magenta Club considers music videos as an integral part of their creativity. For the « Brumeux » music video, the collective collaborated with the renowned director Robin Lachenal, known for his collaborations with significant artists from the French independent music scene, such as Flavien Berger, Frànçois & The Atlas Mountains, Frustration, Koudlam, and Zombie Zombie. The video transports us to a dark and industrial atmosphere, reminiscent of a pagan black mass. Portraying the Parques, infernal mythological deities who weave, unweave, and cut the thread of human destinies, the members of Magenta Club immerse themselves in a captivating visual narrative.

« Brumeux » represents an extraordinary release for Magenta Club, clearly departing from their artistic past to embrace new sounds and influences. This single stands as an intentionally surreal musical offering in a period of uncertainty, foreshadowing the atmosphere and sound of their forthcoming second album. Magenta Club once again demonstrates their ability to adapt and grow, offering fans a taste of the exciting artistic direction that awaits them. We look forward to discovering what the future holds for them.
