Penelope’s Auction House is set to celebrate Paco Rabanne’s legacy with a special online auction running from April 23 to May 5, 2025, on the Drouot platform. The auction showcases rare haute couture pieces and jewelry from Kathy Jean-Louis’s collection, Rabanne’s long-time muse.

In partnership with the Rabanne fashion house and its Heritage & Archives department, the sale features iconic designs from the 1960s to the 1990s—including a Spring-Summer 1967 men’s jacket and several evening dresses from pivotal runway seasons.

In the late 1970s, when Rabanne made a name for himself in the Parisian nightlife scene through the Black Sugar club nestled in Saint Germain des Prés, he discovered Kathy Jean-Louis, who was still in high school at the time. She quickly became a key figure in Paco Rabanne’s creative universe. Their collaboration, marked by artistic intimacy and mutual inspiration, shaped some of the designer’s most experimental and enduring works.

Also featured are select pieces from directors Jacobo Romano and Jorge Zulueta, as well as iconic models from the 60s to 90s. An exhibition will be held by appointment only in Paris on April 28 and 29.
