Paul Smith Fall Winter 2016 enhances the maison’s heritage without loosing contact with the present. Indeed, the collection is made contemporary by subtle details that give to the outfits a playful aspect such as a colored stripe or small patchworks where you least expect it. Tailoring perfection is on the agenda: oversized double-breasted suits perfectly cut-out, tailored trousers and straight wool coats in all colors are a must of the collection. Sobriety also is honored as per the codes of the house, the palette being made of navy blue, black, gray and a melange of orange pink as we all know signature of the couturier. The melange of colors in stripes is explored just once in the collection thanks to a rainbow flou rounded skirt. However, playfulness needs to be found in details: navy suits are made décontractés by red stripes on the right shoulder, going down on the whole length of jacket and trousers while a tailored fitted black jacket and trousers are embellished with apple cores shaped patches. Jewelry and accessories are almost absent a part from tiny bracelets and necklaces decorated with small multi-colored pearls and bright pochettes changing color in their folding layers. Footwear stays classic, going from loafers decorated with velvet bows to suède ankle boots. Everything you could ask for to find a compromise between modernistic and classic style!
