PAUL SMITH HOSTS DEREK RIDGERS PHOTOGRAPHIC EXHIBITION TO CELEBRATE 40 YEARS OF PUNK
On the occasion of London Collections Men’s 9th edition, Paul Smith and the British Fashion Council celebrated 40 years of punk hosting a Derek Ridgers photographic exhibition at the Paul Smith flagship store on Albemarle Street. World’s preeminent documenter of punk culture, Ridgers is an English photographer internationally known for having photographed British social scenes such as punk, skinhead and New Romantics. The photographs exhibited are taken from « Punk London 1977, » Derek Ridgers’ new book which was launched at the occasion of the exhibition. Paul Smith and the photographer also teamed-up to create a limited-edition T-shirt featuring one of Ridgers’ most iconic pictures portraying a young girl with a rebel look and haircut. A number of 150 T-shirts are available for purchase via the Paul Smith online shop and in the 9 Albemarle Street store. « Punk London 1977 » by Derek Ridgers – organized with the collaboration of British Fashion Council – will be open from Friday June 10th to Monday June 13th on the occasion of London Collections Men.
