PAUL SMITH MEN FALL 2016: ON THE RUNWAY

On the last day of Paris Men’s Fashion Week, Sir Paul Smith presented his Fall-Winter 2016 menswear collection in the French capital’s Palais de la Bourse. This season, the emblematic British designer dived into his signature designs to explore the future. Stripes were the common thread of the collection: vertical or horizontal, thick or thin, orange, blue, or pink, they travel around the collection’s colorful effortless tailored suits. Flare pants are worn with black ankle boots which give that cherished 70’s look. This collection is also a play on layers, combining shapes and patterns to create an infinite mix. Stripes meet a dinosaur print, and slightly opened printed shirts are accessorized with chains with pendants. The soundtrack was a key element to the show: from AC/DC to Queen to The Beatles, it was a selection of Paul Smith’s favorites with, of course, an hommage to the late David Bowie with « Oh You Pretty Things » playing for the finale.
