PORTUGAL FASHION AND MODA LISBOA SS22

By Crash redaction

Merging creative talent with tradition and innovation, Portugal Fashion and Moda Lisboa return to Paris Fashion Week, displaying the best of emerging Portuguese talent.

Three designers presented their SS22 collections, Constança Entrudo, Maria Carlos Baptista and Ricardo Andrez. The three reflect the artistic paradigms of fashion in Portugal.

Constança Entrudo

A personal collection which guides us through the visual poetry of the mixture of textiles, performance, sound and sculpture. The handmade fabrics become part of the dialogue established with the scenic space and adhere to the influence of 60s poetry, inspired by European and Brazilian manifestos and poems, as well as the artistic and social movements present.

Maria Carlos Baptista

A collection which continues to reveal her relationship with menswear and how it can be merged into womenswear. The ‘Mátria collection’ is an imagining of the beginning of a new era where Woman is established as the primary force on earth who uses the spoils of the old world as her tools of expression. With a mostly dark palette, some pieces are highlighted by the artistic mix of shapes, textures and colours. The designer also continues her upcycling work by creating a new life from damaged and lost pieces.

 Ricardo Andrez

A collection which is reflective of an imagined virtual world where the new norm is a life entirely sufficient. The augmented reality when in contact with clothes is supplanted by raw finishes, without ever losing the attention to detail, Andrez blends beautifully two visions, organic cotton coexisting with highly technological materials that are sensitive to changes in body temperature.
