PRADA FW25 MENSWEAR SHOW : UNBROKEN INSTINCTS
By Iris JEANSON
Prada’s Fall/Winter 2025 menswear collection, designed by Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons, delves into pure human nature, basic instincts as tools for primal creativity. Titled “Unbroken Instincts,” the collection prioritizes instinct over reason, offering elegant yet savage silhouettes that celebrate emotion and spontaneity.
The collection circles around the theme of romance but at its premise, highlighting the raw emotions of seduction and passion above any rational thought. Contrived decisions are abandoned in favor of the truth and honesty of spontaneous choice. A new sophistication and an intimate, savage elegance are discovered.
The cinematic references add a touch of nostalgia paired with the sensual and contrasting emotions creating an atmosphere of pure security, intimacy and comfort.
Natural and direct gestures reflect our unfiltered humanity. Shearling becomes a layer of security, worn inside and out, and knitwear is adorned with metal symbols without specific meaning, like amulets protecting us.
The show, staged at the Fondazione Prada’s Deposito by AMO, contrasted industrial metal structures with soft carpeting by Catherine Martin. This interplay of textures and shifting atmospheres created an intimate yet grand setting, reflecting the collection’s exploration of instinctual connections.
