PRADA FW25 : REINVENTING FEMININITY

By Iris JEANSON

How could we define femininity today ? Muccia Prada and Raf Simons Fall/Winter 2025 Prada collection interrogates precisely the different perceptions of this concept, each look asks questions and provokes an open discussion that challenges conventinal beauty and identity, exploring its evolving nature.

Dresses, symbols of femininity, are dismantled and reimagined. Through displacement, rescaling, rematerialization, recontextualizing and decontextualizing garments are ceaselessly transformed, creating new silhouettes. Proportions are altered, adjusting the behavior of clothes and the rapport between body and dress. This new construction exposes raw seams and unconventional materials, juxtaposed with bows, jewelry, and handbags, contrasting rawness with glamour.

Set in the Deposito of Fondazione Prada, metal scaffolding meets a Catherine Martin-designed carpet, merging structure with decoration. . In laying bare these visual dichotomies, this environment, in turn, can be seen as a mirroring of a complexity of sense embedded in the pieces.

With Fall/Winter 2025, Prada redefines fashion discourse, embracing contradictions and rethinks contemporary femininity.
